The objective was twofold:
– To create a grooved pattern on concrete for the visually impaired (no need to destroy the existing surface, resulting in drastic savings). It creates a “guide-line” they can follow with their “white cane”.
– To make a decorative anti-slippery surface. This protects people from falling down on a slippery surface, especially when it rains.
As you can see, two different types of grooving were achieved, at the customer’s request. In total, 14,2 km of grooving were carried out.
Depending on the configuration of the sawing drum (numbers of blades & spacers), the BMC-335EHY shaver can adapt to any requirement. You can see below some pictures of the two different types of grooving.
